Spend 3 days with @AbroadinJapan and I in the stunning rural area of Hida in Central Japan.
I hope this video encourages you to visit the Hida area during your next trip to Japan, or in the least inspires you to venture out to more rural locations outside of Tokyo and Kyoto to experience "nohaku".
(Nohaku: Japanese for "countryside stay" - visitors stay in rural, mountain, or fishing villages to enjoy meals and experiences that make use of the rich local resources during their stay.)
There are several regions near the popular tourist destination of Takayama where visitors can savor local cuisine, enjoy seasonal nature experiences, and immerse themselves in local culture, offering a unique stay that is characteristic of countryside life in Japan.
